Micrographia Triptych
Binding - Coptic
Robert Hooke, using the microscope technology available to him in the 1600’s, was captivated by the microstructure of inanimate and animate objects that he observed in reflected light. One still marvels at his observational skills and artistry today! Fine detailed surface structure can now be seen using today’s technology of Scanning Electron Microscopy. The Scanning Electron Microscope images I present in one of these triptychs are of the same or similar objects to those Robert Hooke published in his Micrographia book. The other two volumes of the triptych is Hooke’s Micrographia - printed here in miniature. Coptic bindings with Black Walnut cover. Archival ink printed pages of original text and images in miniature, housed in marble paper covered wooden cases. Edition of 3.
