These two Coptic binding books use covers made from Elm wood with the front cover of one showing bark beetle galleries and a window containing bark beetles and the second an Elm wood cover with an inset of bark beetle galleries. The signatures with text, images (photographs, micrographs and diagrams) tell the story of the demise of these majestic trees by the fungal pathogen that is carried by the bark beetles.
